Our Mission
Proclaiming the love, hope, and caring of the Christian faith as it applies to daily encounters for the people of Appalachia and the world through a positive voice in the media.

Imagine you are at the office, and you could go home, or you could stay a few more hours and finish up this project--the boss would sure be happy, but then your mind replays something you heard this morning on the radio in the car on the way to work.  "What is important to you?  Chances are, it's the people you love and the people who love you."  You decide at that moment that work can wait, and it would be great to play ball with the kids before it gets dark.

These and similar messages are produced by the Presbyterian Council for Media (PCM), a unique ministry of the church.  It is not only a ministry of evangelism spreading the hope and good news of Jesus Christ, but it is also a ministry of mission, and a growing media resource for the local church.

Though PCM focuses heavily on the people of Appalachia, our goal is to bring “a word of hope” to a hopeless world.  PCM creates and produces radio public service announcements that proclaim the love, hope, and care of the Christian faith as it applies to daily encounters.  These spots are then distributed to over 1,300 radio station and all of the presbyteries and synod of the Appalachian area.  And now, PCM can serve "the world" through the availability of downloadable MP3s on this website.  These are free to radio stations to use to share with their listeners.

Along with being a resource for outreach and evangelism, PCM is evolving into a resource for the local church in its use of media from outreach to internal communications to the effective and appropriate use of multimedia in the worship experience.
